Congressional Candidate Vanessa Aramayo Vows to Work with AG to Fight Trump Administration Attacks on Health Care, Immigrants, Climate and Civil Rights
Los Angeles, CA— Candidate for California’s 34th Congressional District Vanessa Aramayo congratulates former Congressman Xavier Becerra on being sworn in as California Attorney General. Aramayo, the former Director of the anti-poverty non-profit California Partnership, Center for Community Change, is running to replace Becerra in Congress. Aramayo’s statement follows:
“Laws, initiatives and policies that Californians hold dear are under attack from the Trump Administration. California’s Members of Congress must work closely with Attorney General Becerra to defend access to affordable health care, protect immigrant families, move forward on climate change innovations and stand up for the civil rights of all. Our state has always led the country on innovative, bold, and effective policies that make sense. We must continue to be fearless, now more than ever before. I look forward to working with our new AG whose Congressional seat will be an honor to fill. Californians are lucky to have him as our next Attorney General. Congratulations.”
A longtime Eagle Rock resident and Glendale native, Aramayo has worked to expand health care access, reform immigration law and improve public education while directing two non-profit community organizations and serving as a Congressional and State Assembly aide.
